Officials make the game!

The King Island Netball Association Committee for 2023 voted to create an Umpires Pool for all Competitions. We will continue this in 2024 with a main focus on Education, Training and Development of more umpires!

The Executive Committee in conjunction with this year's Umpires Convenor Jenna Cook, have put together a selection of umpires that will officiate games across all competitions on a rotation. This means that all Open Women's Teams no longer have to supply umpires for duties each week, although they did have to nominate two people to act as umpiring representatives and who will also be trained as future umpires. 

The grade 9 and 10 netballers will be shadow umpiring a minimum of two games this season, alongside a Mentor or Senior Umpire. This is to promote umpiring as a pathway of netball and to keep adding to and regenerating our pool of umpires for years to come. 

All Senior, Mentor and Team Umpires will be paid for each game they officiate in 2024.
